We had a blast at Whitney and Brian's wedding at Hatfield farms. The weather was gorgeous, complimenting a very beautiful bride. Horse and carriage, rubber rodeo, and rustic dining hall..... Des and I wish we had known about this place when we got married, it was amazing!

Here is a teaser of Whitney dancing with her father. There were so many amazing images (if I do say so myself) that it was hard to choose one, but I decided on this one because it describes the sentiment of the day and was completely candid. Congratulations Whitney and Brian, we loved your warm family and fun-lovin' style!

I have several weddings to catch up on, and I will be blogging them soon I hope! Right now I am sitting here downloading and backing up photos from today's wedding. Melissa and Joe were married to day in a beautiful ceremony at First Baptist church in Halifax. Followed by formals at historic properties (where we bumped into several different newlyweds, wedding parties and their respective photographers-which led to a standoff-"our wedding party is bigger than your wedding party":). We braved the rain, and luckily it abated enough for some nice pictures. Here is a teaser of Melissa while she was getting ready today at the Prince George Hotel. The picture was perfect right out of camera so I am posting it as is. Enjoy!

Jenn and Darren's wedding was fun, energetic, and on the hottest day of the year! How these two kept going the entire day is beyond me:) We have so many fun pictures of them and their friends, family and loved ones, but here are a few that we like. A great wedding gift idea! This is you life stories is an innovative concept brought to life by Janine Carrington of Toronto, ON. She has been an artist for as long as I've known her (more years than I wish to admit) and probably as long as she can remember. Like myself and Des, she sought a way to integrate her art with her career and thus an idea was born :)

One thing I always like to know about the couples we shoot is how they met and how they got engaged. Often times, on the wedding day, there is little time for that kind of conversation. Janine can bring that story to life by illustrating the couple's story in a illustration board form and display it on a large poster for the wedding guests, or as a keepsake book for the couples and their parents. For less brash couples, what a romantic gift-to commemorate their story for years to come.

Tanya and Derek's Wedding

It was a hot humid day, but the weather held out for Tanya and Derek's dream outdoor wedding. The setting was the beautiful and romantic Glen Arbour golf course and the day couldn't have been more perfect. It was wonderful shooting your wedding and our only regret is that we couldn't take even more photos of the two of you.

This couple flew in from BC for their wedding, and we thankfully got a window in which it actually wasn't raining. I processed these super-quick as Tanya and Derek marry this weekend and would like a picture for their guest book. It was great meeting you guys!

These troopers drove all the way to Halifax one beautiful warm sunny Sunday to meet us at Crystal Crescent Beach, only to be greeted by impending fog and chilly air. We managed to race into the city ahead of the fog and capture some late evening sun at the Northwest Arm. Don't be fooled by the calm pooch. This critter was only still for this shot!

We just had the most fantabulous wedding shoot today. We shot a lovely couple, Ian and Kelly, who got married in Lower Sackville. We got to use our new (to us) 5D, and I have to say, despite it being a bit slow for my taste, and the LCD not being high enough resolution to check focus, the pictures are wonderful! I don't think I realised how wonderful pictures from a full-frame camera look.....it has been years since I've used film.

Anyway, back to the wedding. The day was perfect with the weather holding out for us to take a few shots outside. The families were so accomodating despite some bittersweet moments. Ian and Kelly, we wish you the best in your future endeavors, you were a pleasure to "shoot". Here is a preview of a few shots I randomly picked from the day to whet your appetite for more :)

A little while ago we photographed an almost-mom Alex, and her baby bump. This almost mom is now due any day and is eagerly anticipating the arrival of Alex jr. We wish her the best in her adventures as a new mom. It is an incredible journey!

Our second engagement shoot this past weekend was of Kelly and Ian, who will be the first couple married this season for us :) We are so excited about this season, and couldn't be spending the day with a nicer couple. This was shot near the historic properties downtown Halifax near the Lower Deck.

We all got to experience Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage for the first time while enjoying the fresh air at low tide. Hi all,

long time no post! Just letting you know we are in the process of updating our website. Stay tuned for new galleries and music. We are preparing for another busy wedding season with only a few dates left open. Very exciting!

Little Pink

For those who witnessed my larger than life belly this wedding season, our little Pink finally arrived on October 25th, weighing in at 6 lbs 4 oz at 630pm after only 2.5 hours of labour. We named him Andrew Thomas after two of his great grandfathers. So far he has brought us nothing but joy (and a few sleepless nights) and we can't believe how much he changes every day.

Needless to say this past month has been very busy, trying to tie up loose ends and move to our new home. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and encouragement this season as we completed our first year as a business. We've grown a lot (and not just physically ;) as photographers and have only our clients to thank.

Presently we are not booking any more dates for 2008, but we do still have a few dates left for 2009.
